Ability Pathways, Inc. operates 23 group homes in neighborhoods located throughout Los Angeles, Inland Empire, & Sun Valley. Each home is licensed by the Department of Public Health/Licensing and Certification and provides a home-like environment for up to six adults ages 9 and up.
The individuals being served by Ability Pathways have various Intellectual Disabilities including cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, and sensory deficits. They receive regular independent skills instructions; such as: personal hygiene, money management, social development, and recreational activities.
Ability Pathways intends to ensure each person shall be treated with dignity, their rights are protected, and their individual needs are met by well qualified staff and consultants. These needs are delivered in a caring and safe environment. Service provision will be provided in an environment that is conducive to normalization, self-esteem, development of potential and opportunities to become active participants in the community.
Family Involvement
Ability Pathways encourages the participation of parents, guardians and representatives to contribute to the growth and development of each individual. Families are encouraged to attend the individual program planning, evaluation, assessment meetings and to solicit their recommendations toward fulfilling such plans. Ability Pathways believes the interdisciplinary approach will enable us to apply the combined expertise of our staff and consultants to develop programs and services that will permit individuals to achieve the maximum levels possible in their growth and development. And if possible, to encourage them to play a role in their own program planning
Outings & Recreations
Ability Pathways’ individuals and staff participate in community and neighborhood activities, such as, parades, car shows, parks and county fairs. Individuals have also had the opportunity to go to Disneyland, Sea World, Dodgers Baseball game, American Girl Store, Universal Studio and to the beach.
DAY PROGRAM
Majority of the residents at Ability Pathways attends Day Programs, where they continue to work on gaining physical and cogitative skills. Some residents participate in job programs via their day programs, where they are financial compensated.
PRIVATE TRANSPORTATION
Ability Pathways not only provides transportation for their own resident, but they also offer private transportation.
