As a Driver or Aide, you will directly impact the lives of the people we serve by providing direct care and support that promotes independence, social interaction and person centered lifestyle choices. You will receive on the job training while assisting people in their day to day lives.

Drivers will be accompanied by an Aide who will assist the drivers. Driving Requirements include, but not limited to:

• Operate vehicle in safe manner at all times

• Obey all rules of the road

• Perform pre-trip inspection

• Report any violations received

• Drive vehicles solely for Ability Pathway’s business

• Follow all agency policies and procedures

• Ensure safety and well-being of all individuals

• Complete all necessary paperwork daily (route sheet, vehicle log, Incident reports & etc)

• Ensure that all individuals are received by a responsible adult after they exit the van

• Maintain a clean vehicle

• Report vehicle defects immediately

 

Qualifications:

• For insurance purposes, all drivers must be at least 25 years old.

• Clear driving record

Successful candidates must be able to lift, push and pull 50 lbs. consistently throughout the shift; effective and professional communication in both verbal and written form; mature judgment relative to providing support of individuals who experience the effects of disabilities and can work all available shifts.
